....but it's all about people.
If you read Monday's post then you already know I'm on a relationship-with-people kick. Hopefully it's not a temporary kick, but a jumpstart to get to know those in my life, both on and off line, better than before. Investing in relationships will take time and effort, and I'm looking forward to getting to know people on a deeper level.
That means you!
Blogging is one way to get to know others with like interests, and I've recently discovered there are many great bloggers out there, beyond the ones I've visited daily for the last several years. I'm broadening my horizons.
Today I'd like to highlight a super cool lady with an award that Jill Kemerer gave to me :D Thanks, Jill--you totally made me smile! I'm only awarding to one person, because honestly I COULD award you all (but who'd read the whole list, LOL!) You've all found a special place in my day :D
On to the award:

Patti Lacy, who has cool pictures and interesting discussions with a dose of inspiration. I first met Patti when I toured her book and she stopped by to say thanks. What I love about her is that she didn't stop with the one visit, she continued to come by. Not just my blog, but I've seen Patti forming friendships around the web. If you haven't stopped by Patti's blog, I encourage you to click over!
What do you enjoy about various blogs? Is there a quality that your favorites have in common?

You're so right. Blogging is truly about developing relationships with people. Blogging means so many different things to so many different people, but ultimately I think it boils down to relationships!
Georgiana, well, I came here for my daily dose of inspiration, knowledge, good writing, and got an undeserved award!!!
You bloggite you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Patti
I do love blogging. It helps me connect with other writers who are struggling with the same things I am. I think that's what draws me to a blog.
Georgiana, congratulations on receiving the award! I love your blog so I'm not at all surprised. And congratulations to Patti as well! Her blog totally rocks!!!
It IS all about the people. The blogs I love the most are written by people who are my friends.
You ladies are all so cool! Thanks for stopping by today :D
Congrats on your Award, and to Patti as well! Both of you are well deserving. I love the dialogues that develop in the comments on the blogs. It feels like people stop in for a quick coffee and chat, leaving their insights, questions, thoughts to add to the conversations. That's one thing that keeps me coming back, that ease of conversation!
OH, that is SO true about the coffee. There's just something so right about coffee and blogging. It's a perfect pair.
I'm all about building relationships, but one truth God has been speaking to me is "don't chase after friendships I have not given you."
This manifests in me visiting blogs and commenting and trying to start a conversation or relationship and getting disappointed when that person doesn't reciprocate. This also happens on fb and I have to tell myself to "let go and stop chasing people. Let God bring them to you."
When I do listen, I head over to my own little blog and focus on the few commenters I get, BUT they're the ones God sent to me. The relationships he wants me to cultivate. Instead of worrying about another blogger who has a couple dozen commenters I need to focus on my few. As a type A, it's HARD, but the relationships are so much more worth it.
I'm sure, Georgiana would agree! ;)
