RANDOM CHAOS ALERT
As if the last month wasn't sad/weird enough....
Wednesday afternoon I started getting pains in my stomach. No biggie, one of the kids was sick earlier in the week, so I naively assumed I was getting the grippers and promptly armed myself with Immodium.
Then it progressed. The pain moved lower and intensified. By 11 pm it centered in my lower right abdomen. The moment dear hubby walked in the door, I made him take me to the ER, where we spent the better part of the night confirming that I did, indeed, have appendicitis.
The next afternoon I had the operation, and Friday night they released me.
Sigh. Now I move like an inchworm, and live life in slow motion. So not fun, but definitely a compassion builder.
No exercise for 6 weeks. SIX WEEKS! Do you know how BIG I'll BE in SIX WEEKS?!?!?!
Anyhoo, prayers appreciated. Especially since we have the Oh-Crap-I-Hope-Nothing-Happens high deductible insurance plan. I am anxious to see how God works this out for the good--not that I am doubting He will--but man, I'd love to have a moment of sunshine, or at least something to look forward to.
In the meantime, I shall enjoy leisurely sipping coffee in the morning (instead of rushing to the gym), having hubby help me with the grocery shopping (lest I bust a stitch loading the heavies), and mostly milking it for all. it's. worth.

Oh, Georgiana! I'm so sorry! We have the same Oh-crap-I-hope-nothing-happens insurance. So we NEVER go to the doctor unless it's something major! I hope you feel much better soon!
So sorry to hear this. I had my appendix out when I was in 8th grade and still remember the pain the night before the surgery. It was awful. Take care, rest and get well soon :)
Georgiana, sorry to hear about this. I do know that God has a plan for it. Is there a way I can do DOUBLE exercise and loan some of it to you????
Blessings and God's peace.

Oh my goodness, Georgiana! I am glad you are ok. We have had that same deductible at times. Follow Dr.'s orders. Prayers for quick healing.
I'm glad to hear you came through without complications like peritonitis though jeez seems like they sent you home toot sweet. Take it easy. Butt in comfy chair, feet up. Milk it for all it's worth and feel better soon.
I'll be praying, Georgiana. I hope you're up and on your feet soon. I had foot surgery years ago and the hardest part was not being able to do all the things I wanted to. Hang in there and remember to be a GOOD Patient! :-)
Wow! I'd probably be one of those people who tries to blow it off until it turns into a major medical situation. Glad you got to the ER when you did and hope you heal up well.

Glad you are feeling better. Milk it, honey!!
Poor thing! I pray you heal quickly. I can't wait to hear a praise report on those medical bills- God is able to do exceedingly more than we can ask or think!
So glad you got in to the hospital when you did.
And yeah, you deserve a little time with your feet up. Let the family wait on you a bit.
:)
Love you, girl!
Yuck! Sorry you had that lovely surgery. I hope you're recovering nicely and get the rest you need.
ACK!! Well maybe you'll come up with a couple of awesome new book ideas while you're healing up! Poor you, but look on the bright side, you will never have to have your appendix taken out again!
Thank you all so much for your sympathy, encouragement, well wishes, and prayers! Feeling a bit better today and can almost walk normal. But more than that, there has been a notable shift in my attitude and outlook, and instead of looking at all the things I can't do (and the high deductible) I'm looking at the time I can spend guilt free slowing down.
Thanks, ladies!
Am so glad you got in to the hospital! Taking the Immodium could have been disastrous.
The six weeks has to do with not breaking open your stitches. Just ask my mom!!! As a 6th grader I didn't exactly stick to the 6 weeks and she about had a cow!!! Hang in there, it'll be over before you know.
Wow, I'm glad you didn't ignore it! Also, glad you're better. And dude, I'd kill not to have to exercise for 6 weeks!
Ouch! and Yuck! and I'm sorry. I'm so sorry you're going through this. When times are bad, it can feel like an avalanche. I hope everything gets super good stat!
Keep milking it and you have ME to look forward to this summer! ;)
