KEEP ON TRUCKIN'

Sometimes a little encouragement is all we need to keep on truckin' even when the odds are against us. Most of the time I get propped up by my pals, time in the Word, or from those SOS prayers that have become all-too-frequent.

And occasionally I run across a song that just hits me in the gut, like "Hey, I could have written that!" (Well, parts of the song, anyway.) Check this out, it's "The Comeback Kid" by B. Reith, and take special note of the lyrics:

Can't stop now we can't afford to give in
Learned my lesson through facin' opposition
If life doesn't hurt then we're not really livin'
So we take punch after punch like
Cassius Clay or Sugar Ray you see
This hard knock life might make my heart break
But you ain't gonna make no quitter out of me

How do you get propped up when you fall into a rut or have a down time?

PS. For the record, life is going well here, but there's always some kind of hurdle that pops up unexpectedly....

PPS. Ran/slow jogged/practically crawled 5 miles today. And yes, this song was in my head.

Oh, I'm good at getting my Rocky on. I'm pretty resilient. I thank my rocky (hey, there's that word again) childhood. Gave me lots of practice for getting back up again.

I believe passionately in a vision and God's good for me.

First of all, I recognize that I'm getting into a rut. Then I list things I love that I can do to get me out of the rut. When I stick to a schedule, I'm safer!

Great job on your run! I slacked off last week. It's time to lace up the shoes!

Georgiana, I so have been there!
Reliance on God is the absolute only way I get out of bed, much less write!

He is SO GOOD to provide the Words, the Counseling I need.

Praise Him!

And may YOU feel His presence this very day.

Music definitely helps me too. Sometimes going for a long walk does the trick. But no matter what, I always feel better after talking to my mom. :-)
