GEARING UP, BUCKLING DOWN, & OTHERWISE STAYING BUSY
Funny how it was easy to come back from Conference with renewed energy to pour my heart onto the page and do all-things-writing, but not so easy to get back into the workout routine or clean the floors. (All in good time, I keep telling myself!)
Seeing as how the last 10 days have breezed by without my accomplishing everything I had in mind, I decided to write my to-do list for the rest of this week and next week coming up. And yes, I intend to bore you with the mundane tasks that are clogging my conscience. If I have to do them then my friends have to read them =P
*clean floors
*pay bills
*exercise--particularly hard to start again. I ran (actually walked/slooooow jogged) the most embarrassing 3 miles on Monday.
*get ready for NOVEL TRACK--goal 51,000 words (If you're a writer and a member of ACFW and haven't signed up for this, what's stopping you???) This requires my jumping back into a previously started story and I need to hang out with my characters a bit before pretending I know what's going on
*crit for bud Erica Vetsch--always fun to see what she's come up with!
*plot NANO novel--this will require a bit of research. Not my forte, but necessary this time. Also, it will take me more than a week. I plan to have every single scene planned by NANO Eve (known to civilians as Halloween or Oct 31)
What's on your list? Any pressing goals you'd like to share?

Like you trying to keep up with the cleaning. Solved the exercise I walk around the block when I drop off The Young One for class. Latest work, trying to come up with a proposal for a new class.
I'm a walker, and find that when I walk, it energizes the rest of my life and helps get things done. I do keep a weekly itinerary of the writing steps I'm working on to keep me on track. Right now I'm doing a little querying on my fiction, and putting the finishing touches on a nonfiction proposal.
GMTA! I blogged about goals too.
51K? LOL =P
I want to do some more walking this month. To offset all the sitting and typing.
I hear a lot about the writing conferences from my bloggy friends. I'm beginning to be more curious and wonder if I should ever attend one, or at least a workshop. I'm not a novelist, but I can certainly benefit from writing tips, strategies, encouragement, etc.
I'm a 4 mile runner and I love it. Some days, it's hard to get going - like today because it has been raining - but, it's been very good for me.
Best wishes in getting and keeping your grove - with writing, cleaning, and exercising. :)
If I wrote my list, I would scream, cry and faint, in that order. So I'll keep it in my head where its not quite as daunting. lol
51K?? Wow, that's impressive.
My goals are to get on a solid schedule both for writing and homeschooling. Keeping the schedule is my issue :)
No list. But I did get a new story idea in Sonoma. Want to get started getting the bare bones down on that. But I'm still so tired I can't see straight. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!! It was so fun getting to know you better this year! I blogged about the conference as well.
CJ, that's cool that you are doing a class! Calligraphy? You are really good!
Joanne, I agree that exercise sets up the rest of the day. Good for you getting those proposals out too!
Erica, you had to know I'd do 51. Hee hee friendly competition!
Anita, four miles is awesome! Running is so freeing. And yes you should attend a conference--def worth the time and money!!
Betsy, you are my list buddy! How can you keep it all inside? LOL! No fainting, please, because I can't help you from here.
Julia, keeping the schedule in both homeschooling and writing is hard for me too. Goal setting really is the easier part!
Cathy, I wonder where the Sonoma idea came from? LOL! Hope you had a great time! It was fun getting to know you at conference, and I so enjoyed our limo ride to the airport :D
Am glad to see that you are staying out of trouble!!
Hmmm. My goal? To have the first draft of Reclaiminig Lily DONE by 10/15. About ten scenes left.
Back in the writing cave!
Blessings, dear one,
Patti
