In keeping with this week's parenting theme, I decided to take the parental coolness quiz. Is anyone surprised that I failed? While I might not show up to their events wearing sweats with busted elastic (I do wear them proudly at home!) I am not cool. I'm strict. I can live with it.
And yes, I do drive a mini-van and have bangs.

 And that's pretty okay. While your kids may not think of you as a friend, they will respect you. You know that kids need discipline and structure, and you're not afraid to give it to them. Just be careful that your strictness doesn't lead to rebellion. It's good to have standards and rules, but you don't need to have an iron fist when enforcing them. |

You seem to naturally know a lot about parenting, and you know what kids need.
You can tell when it's time to let kids off the hook, and when it's time to lay down the law.
While your parenting is modern and hip, it's not over the top.
You know that there's nothing cool about a parent who acts like a teenager... or a drill sergeant!
According to this quiz, I will be a cool parent someday.
My son pleaded the 5th when I asked him if I was a drill sergeant...smart boy.

I'm only cool in my own mind. My kids think I'm way old and have no clue as to anything that's relevant in today's society. How do I survive?
