BUSY HANDS

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.
~Colossians 3:23

Another verse, in Ecclesiastes says that whatever your hands find to do, to do it with all your might.

These are the words of encouragement I need this week to tackle a few items on my ever-growing to-do list that I'm not looking forward to. (Taxes and cleaning the shower immediately spring to mind.) Then there are the daily grindouts I must work through (math with the kids, trying to eat healthy after grazing my way through the Superbowl, and cooking meal after meal after meal.)

A few tricks to help: setting my work to music, racing against the clock, rewarding myself with uninterrupted reading or computer time. Most importantly, I have to remind myself that I'm a model for my kids, and they learn from my willingness to work cheerfully.

What tasks are on your agenda this week, ones you'd rather avoid? C'mon, friends, I need to know I'm not alone! How do you power through?

Ooo, the tyranny of the to-do list!.

I need to work on taxes, go grocery shopping, and work my way through another week of school and basketball.

How do I get through? Put my head down and CHARGE! :D

Take one day, one task at a time. And dance as fast as I can

I'm still working on moving myself from "I should" to "I choose." It seems to help. I haven't been able to force the words "I choose to do taxes now" through my lips yet. Must work on that!

I need to gather our tax stuff this week and make an appointment with our tax lady. I also have two newspaper articles due by the end of the week, and have to get through Little Miss's mole removal/with stitches procedure tomorrow afternoon. Plus work. Writing deadlines. Etc. It's all in a week's work ;)

I feel your pain. It all sounds so familiar. :)

I've just started a "clean the bathroom routine." Success two weeks in a row! I clean the shower while in it. It was surprising easy today because I got all the soap scum off last Monday.

You probably don't want to hear this, but when I go for a long run in the morning, I feel more energized during the day, and then do more chores.

Oh, ladies! Is it awful for me to say that I'm glad you have icky things on your lists too? LOL!!! It's nice to know I'm not alone. And I will try dancing fast and cleaning the shower while I'm showering.
