WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

This is how lame we are: while watching tonight's Oscars (admittedly only the first half) I had no clue who any of the actors/actresses were. I'd seen only one movie that was referenced. Am I that out of touch?

The part that cracked me up the most was when that guy (my daughter told me his name is Christian Bale) forgot his wife's name while giving his Oscar speech. Did anyone else catch that????

I used to enjoy movies, and I watched at least 2-3 DVDs a week. Nowadays we see maybe 6 DVD's a year, and go to the movies (where you have to sell the rights to your firstborn to pay for popcorn) maybe twice.

How about you? Movie buff or are you out of touch like me?

With a toddler we never go to movies anymore, the few times we get a babysitter, there's always nothing playing we'd like to see! But we just joined Netflix and have some catching up to do! I do know who Christian Bale is, great actor, and wow that's awful he blanked that badly!! hahaha

I'm a movie buff, but old movies. I have quite a nice collection of DVDs that I can watch over and over again and not be bored. New films and new actors. Haven't got a clue. I flipped in and out of the Oscars when the early news was on commercial break. Caught the Christian Bale flub. He'll be buying his wife long stem red roses for a long time to come. Lol

I am way out of touch. I didn't even watch the Oscars and have no clue who or what won. :)

Like CJ I have a slew of old movies on DVD and watch those.

Out of touch. The movies that have been released the past couple years just haven't been connecting with me at all :/

We watch a lot of movies and televisions series on Netflix. The only down side is that the movies are no longer in the theatre, but there's so much we need to catch up on we're seriously considering pulling the Dish netwok plug and going Netflix only! Only $10 a month with instant movies to TV and computers anywhere! Can't beat that!

So there's a lot of controversy on line now saying Bale didn't forget his wife's name - he was choked up with emotion. Ooops!!!

LOL, I'm TOTALLY not convinced. My hubby said, "he's an actor--he totally tried to make a good recovery by acting choked up when he forgot his wife's name."

I wonder what his wife says? Hee hee.

I finally joined Netflix and I'm in heaven. I'm a movie buff but also very picky. I stopped watching the Oscars years ago as it was just so over the top and like you, I hadn't heard of the movies and most of them didn't appeal to me-- I can't stand rated R artsy movies. My husband and I just watched Knight and Day and really enjoyed that one. And we make our own popcorn.
